Welcome to therapy for a kids and teens!

“There is healing that happens when you feel heard, when you feel understood, and when you feel supported.”

Here at Essence of Living, we practice just that:

Individual Counseling

$75

I provide a supportive space for kids, teens, and young adults to explore their emotions, develop coping strategies, and build self-confidence through personalized, evidence-based therapy.

Group Counseling

$35

In a warm, collaborative group setting, I help young people connect with others while learning effective communication skills and strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and behavioral challenges.

Family Counseling

$100

I partner with families to navigate the challenges of parenting a child or teen struggling with emotional or behavioral issues, using proven methods to improve communication and strengthen relationships.

Please don’t let costs stop you from reaching out. I want to make care accessible for all. If you are struggling financially but still need care, I offer a limited number of sliding scale slots. Don’t hesitate to reach out and share this concern.

We believe

every child deserves a space where they can be seen, heard, and supported as they grow into the best version of themselves.

Let’s work together.

What we’ll do in therapy…

  • We will create 2-3 goals together for your child or teen that we will use to measure progress.

  • I will give you and your child worksheets, workbooks, and/or mental homework or activities to do between sessions to continue work outside of session.

  • Your child or teen and I will establish rapport and getting to know each other in the first few sessions, so they feel comfortable to express themselves and be open as sessions increase.

  • Over the course of our sessions, we will work on coping skills that best fit the client, parenting strategies to support progress, and work through thoughts and feelings and experiences that result in unwanted behaviors.

  • Upon request, I am always happy to collaborate with the school to guide in creating a behavior plan with strategies we work on in session.

  • Usually, sessions will look like this: Quick check in with the parent/guardian on what went well and what did not go well since last session. The parent will leave the room, and I will do a check-in with the child/teen on what went well, what they are looking forward to, and what didn't go well since last session. We’ll do a craft/activity/worksheet on presenting issues, a mindfulness break, and homework will be assigned.

  • I love to give activities "homework" for families to complete together to work on emotional connection and promote positive interactions and quality time within the family.
